‘As you return home, to your home, think of others (do not forget the people of the camps).’ – Mahmoud Darwish.

‘We sink in our choosing to go along with the herd, wicked and enjoyable in its own right?’ – Amira Hass.

When today’s current events become our children’s history lessons, how will they view our actions? In the film-maker Amos Gitai’s multimedia performance, four actors—two Palestinian and two Israeli—address the foundations of the conflict at the Israel-Gaza border. A Letter to a Friend in Gaza stitches together film, music, and poetry in a tribute to French writer Albert Camus’ Letters to a German Friend, in which he sought to find common ground between warring peoples. Likewise, Gitai seeks to create a space for listening among opposed perspectives.

You can also join us for A reading of Efratia Gitai Correspondences on Sun 24 Nov at 6:00 pm.
